Well, I just finished drawing the best dang eyebrows I've ever done, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to wear them! Can anyone take me step-by-step on what you upload them as, and how I can wear/sell them just as eyebrows, not a part of an entire skin...

Thanks! Detailed answers would be greatly appreciated! ♥

Afraid to say it, but eyebrows (anything to do with the face, really) are skin. Only thing you could try is making prim eyebrows.

I personally never seen or worn prim eyebrow.
It would seem like major pain trying to get all the hairs in the right place way too
much work to get all the single strands of hair to line up right on one's eyebrow area..
I usually draw them in with brushes or line by line but it takes lot of practice
I haven't totally perfected but I suggest you google Eloh Elliot's skins
and get the psd files as way to get idea where to put everything.
Oh google for Nagel brushes too nice hair ones but it still takes bit practice to get
it look exactly right.
There is lot of people who use photos too.
But still need to know where to place the eyebrows correctly above the uv layer and
how to blend them in just right that where it is handy to have Eloh Eliot's wonderful
gift to the community of those starting out making skins.

you can make a mask from the skin layers, the only think is that most skins are all no modify, so the odds of somebody being able to use it are pretty slim. But yes, you can make an additional layer in a skin for things like eyebrows and make-up. But I think you need to use that awful Linden skin as a base to layer them.

I never learn how to do mask personally I just don't understand how.
What I do and I am still fine tuning it and tend to do it for fun is.
I find a skin or make my own skin texture, I put it over guide like UV layer
skin sl has or something I have modified from Eloh Eliot's as guide make the layers
transparent enough to see what I am drawing, create layers just for my own drawings
and shadings, best for every different area or layer have its own layer or problems may ensue.
When done I make the Eloh and UV layers not show up by turning them off increase
skin layers, tweak as needed then save as psd, then save as png then upload in world the png file, look at it with preview screen in upper or lower section before I click accept and pay for it if I don't like what I see I don't upload unless I want to study it on my avatars
skin up close to see the mistakes.
I am doing it for fun, so key for me is to keep simple and just have clue where things go, experiment how certain layers, brushes and effects work.
Personally for me there is no need to know what or how to do mask or anything complected until you're ready or have spare memory space in your head for that.
Mask are just confusing term I don't get.
There is numerous things in skin making and other things that can be way too complicated, if you're starting out most important thing is just keep it simple, keep it fun and try to find a clue how to draw the illusions of what you want by practicing different things you can figure out i.e layers, layer effects, brushes and anything else that works personally for you.

there is a mask template on the old face template. the thing is, if your skin is no modify, then you can't wear anything else on your skin. I made a few TGA masks at some point, some gothic thing, maybe even a vampire, all bumpy like. And you can only layer over the nasty Linden default skins. Except they all use masks too, so if you switch out the existing mask, it will remove all the face detail to that fun orange skin we all love so much.

Well there is other colors then orange. Most good skins if you match the skin tones
all turn out into some brown hues that I have seen when I have tried to match skin colors.
I don't know why that is. Even when they don't look brown if I take photo of one skin I am wearing in world and match it with eye dropper it's always going to show brown for some odd reason I haven't figured it out yet.
I figure part of learning how to do skins is knowing what colors do in your art program and in world, shading does and how they translate on skin.
I don't know about how to make skin modifiable because when I draw what
I want I can't make it have freckles example unless its on the template.
It isn't like anyone going to give hints how to draw out our skin tones we got to figure out
how the colors translate like how a tan or pink tone skin translates to sl for example.
Often it is by trial and error, with tons of practice.
Or figure out how to translate real life photos over UV's and those aren't going to be modifiable exactly either.
Anyway those modifiable skins are big mysteries to me, just like when people use word
mask or other complected terms that I don't get and often say which is totally confusing
to someone who has no clue to begin with.
Those starting out have to find away to figure it out some how, most of it is trial and error,
knowing how to place either photos or drawing it out in right places.
Those who do know the ins and out of this won't use terms everyone is going to understand that is easy to do because one they don't think of it terms like someone like myself would think of, two if they make it confusing we won't bother and will buy their products, three they are too busy or too impatient to explain it.
I am not selling things I just want to create and share what I know this is what I know.
Using terms like mask mean nothing to me.
If I want to modify a face I need to learn how to draw what features
I want that will translate in SL or not bother personally only way I know of how to do is
by using the available guides like Eloh Eliot's and lots of practice, making lot of mistakes..

oh of course, that default Linden skin is awful. But it is the base to every skin in existance. they all start with that awful skin and get built back up with good textures. But you have to start somewhere I suppose.

and attach it to nose & move it up to brow area just like what some does in eye lashes or where they place hats or tiara and move it down
