i'm making a texture for a wall of a museum, and there is text on it. i want the text to be readable, so i figure i'll make a high res image. for some reason, its fuzzy when i upload it. i even upped the resolution, and it got even fuzzier. i have textured other objects with nice, crisp detail. i've made hundreds of textures for my sim, and for some reason, this one thing is comin' out fuzzy... not just the text, but the whole image. i'm doin' it the way i always make things, but for some reason, its pixely. i can't figure it out! i'm goin' nuts!

Take a look at it tomorrow, and see if it's still fuzzy. Sometimes it takes a while for the system to generate and/or deliver all four LOD versions of the texture. It sounds like it's getting stuck at one of the intermediary levels right now. It's annoying when that happens, but it does eventually clear up, usually.

Also, keep in mind, SL uses lossy compression on most images. In most cases, the loss is not easily noticeable, but it can be more apparent on some images than on others. Generally speaking, the more sharp lines are in the image, the worse it will be. For this reason, text is especially susceptible to artifacting.

I've come to the texture forum for help for this very reason: I have made hundreds of textures and all of a sudden the alpha textures I have made recently look very pixellated. Is there a particular problem currently? It seems to be persisting.

I don't go above 512x512 unless there is a special reason to do so, and I haven't had this problem before.
