I know how to make the basic hair textures so no need to link me to Natalie's diary or the other places that have hair tutorials
what I am searching for is how to make the spiral type hair texture.
not just simply curly, but it looks very very much like the spiral curl that we used to get with perms in real life (god it has been ages, do ppl still get those hehe)
anywho if anyone knows of any photoshop tutorials or tips on how to do this type of texture please let me know

Drawing the curls in the texture is one approach, but I think most curls in SL are prims.
Try rezzing a cylinder , make it long and skinny like a lock of hair, make it a little flatter than it is wide, and then twist the hell out of it to see what I mean. If this is what you want to do, go to the Ivory Tower of Primitives form more/better lessons. lee _____________________

not the prim type curls, am familar with that
have seen curly hair out there, got some myself do not see it a lot and am curious if there is a way to draw this type of hair or is it a closely guarded secret heh _____________________

I know the texture you're describing, and no, I haven't seen any tutorials on how to make it. Let me fiddle with it and see if I can make one for you and let you know how I did it. Ok...here goes!
1. Your hair texture is basically diagonal lines (Spiral_Hair_Tut_1 is the alpha I made) 2. Create a tube, flexify it, hollow out 95% 3. Texture the outside with your spiral texture 4. Texture the inside of the tube with your spiral texture (Please note that my diagonal lines don't match up perfectly..but you get the idea). Best, ~Ari _____________________
