The only possible way to do that is by using prims. Since there's only one arm on the UV template, anything that's on one arm will be on the other, but reversed.

I suggest using sculpties. With sculpties you can get a nice shape, that can look very nice, natural, and realistic if you do it well. I know there are free sculpting tools out there too, if you're looking for a low cost route...just take a look in the forums
