Using PhotoShop cs3
I have an image which contains 3 layers with masks. When I try to resize one layer using my usual method, ctrl+click on icon, ctrl+T for free transform then squeezing the image from one corner, the opaque portion of my layer slides behind the mask. I tried selecting both mask and image icon to no avail. How can I use free transform on a layer mask?
thanks Bryce

Don't ctrl-click. Doing so will cause you to select just the layer, not the mask. Simply start transforming, and the whole layer, including the mask, will be affected. Selections are only to be used when you want to affect part of something, not the whole thing.
Also, make sure the layer and the mask are linked. On the Layers palette, click in the space between the layer thumbnail and the mask thumbnail. A little chain link icon will appear and disappear as you click. When the chain link is showing, the layer and the mask will transform together (provided you haven't selected one or the other). When the chain is not showing, the layer and the mask will each transform independently.
