Hi everyone, just have a very quick, uninspired question. I just downloaded Chip Midnight's body templates and was wondering if it was possible for me to upload them and apply a skin to them in SL, or if they were strictly to help simplify the clothing design process. I could be WAY off here about how to use these templates... I'm new to SL and had hear that these were the best bods' around. Are these templates potentially an upgrade to to standard SL bodies, or were they created to help designers outside of the game? Tips, answers, flames, redirection to a thread that I missed, whatevers clever just give me a clue! Thanks for your time everyone.

Templates are just that. Templates.
The work is not done for you, you must create the skin or clothing using the template as a guide as to where to put stuff.
Export the finished piece from the template/application to a suitable format. i.e file.tga.
Upload and wear.
Repeat as necessary.

Excellent, thank you very much for taking the time to respond! I'll fire up the old Photoshop 5.0 and get on that.

Katiana, I have the textures uploaded in SL already. It's VERY handy to refer to them actually ON the avatar to see exactly where the line lay when designing. Send me an IM and I'll send them to you. No sense in you spending the L to upload if I've already got them.

But, Kornscope is right, you need to design your clothing in a graphics program and then upload those as clothing textures.
