or numbers for creating eye textures. I have done searches on the internet and in the forums. The only one i can find is on the LL site, but when i go to DL it, it comes up as a bunch of symbols and nothing.. I am looking for a place to get an eye template for sizing purposes. or if someone knows the numbers for making the right size. Heck are eye templates even used any more LOL.. thanks

All the templates are at http://secondlife.com/community/templates.php. The eye template specifically is at http://static.secondlife.com/templates/Eye_template_Ver_1_1.psd

Is that what you were looking at, or was it something else?

If that was it, and it's not working, then maybe you just don't have adequate software to read the file. You'll need a program that can read PSD files. Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, and GIMP are the most popular choices.

yes and no.. i have been to that site..

i have gimp and paint.net, I can DL the other templates from LL like the upper, skirt, head, etc.. when it comes to the eye one all i get is a document that opens with a bunch of symbols.. so its weird that i can DL the others but not the eye one.. ty though

That is weird. I just tested it myself, to see if the file was corrupted or something on the website, and it worked just fine. Maybe you got a botched download. Have you tried re-downloading it?

yes on my laptop and the desk top.. i click the little orange DL button and here is a sample of what i get ... i dont' get a DL box.. i get a window that opens with this... of course there is much more.. LOL didn't want to post it all

I could never get the download to work from the site either however a while ago someone did post a zip file download for the eye template. Thats how i got it.

The eye template is really a rough guide. I have heavily modified the pupil and iris diameters on my own version to what I consider aesthetically pleasing.

Your issue with opening the file might be system related. I had a similar problem downloading and installing the SL client on my laptop. I discovered it was not an issue on my workstation, downloaded it from there, transfered it to my laptop, and successfully installed and ran it that way. Your issue may be different for many reasons (file associations, different file type, software related, etc.), but it might be worth a try if you have a 3rd alternate system you can download the eye template to.

Another suggestion is to get a free or trial version of another application like ACDSee to see if that application opens the file successfully.

Hi I bet you have Vista...Right? I got Vista and now all I get is the symbols too... all of my programs are updated and I only have an old eye template to work with but I am more than willing to share ; )

strangely .. i have windows XP not sure if home or professional.. LOL and the link below someone gave me won't let me DL it .. keeps saying my session has ended or expired.. i just want something so i can judge size by

Gabbie, do you have some sort of download manager software installed? If so, maybe it's malfunctioning or interfering somehow. What browser are you using? Have you tried downloading the file with a different browser?

If all else fails, can you see this image?

If you can see it, right click on it, and save it to your hard drive. It is the eye template. It doeesn't have all the layers, of course, since it's just a JPEG for the Web, but the included layers on the PSD aren't all that useful anyway. This composite image shows where everything is on the eye, and that's all you really need.

i am using IE not sure what version. nothing special i can DL the other templates from LL website.. just hair and eyes giving me problems.. and yes i can see that image.. ty..
