Is it possible to modify a skin?

Hi,

I've finally got a skin that likes me a lot, but I would like to add some tattoos over it.

It makes use of the three tattoo boxes (make up on the face, body defined, etc.) so I can't use them for that purpouse.

Is there any way to download that skin to my computer in order to edit it?

I've seen that we can upload our designs (paying 10 L$), but I can't see any way to download them

I don't know about downloading it to your computer but you could create your tattoos as undershirt/underwear and wear them over your skin that way.

If you have copies of the textures that make up the skin, and you have full permissions on them, then you can download the textures and do with them as you please. Double click the texture in your inventory to open it, and then go File -> Save Texture As... If all you have is the finished product, the skin itself without the individual textures, then you can't do it. (And please no one start talking about how to steal the textures by hacking.)

Many skin makers will apply tattoos for you if you ask. Contact the creator, and see if he/she is willing. If yes, great. If not, then either make your own skin, deal with a different skin maker who's more accommodating, put the tattoo on a different layer as Grace suggested, or just live without the tattoo.

Another option would be you could apply the tattoo to an otherwise transparent prim, and attach the prim to your av's body. Sometimes that's the best way to go anyway, depending on where you want the tattoo to be. If you want it on one arm, for example, but not the other, then primming it is your only choice.
