I've been playing around with eye making, and I'm not sure how to get myself listed as the creator of the eyes I make. I know it's possible -- or was possible at some point, at least -- because I have a pair of eyes that I bought that have their actual creator listed as the creator. Help, anyone?

When creating body parts (skin, hair, eyes) always start by right clicking in your inventory and doing new/bodypart/(type). You'll be listed as creator that way. If you start by modifying an existing one you'll end up with one of the prolific creators "nobody" or "newbie_template."

On a related note, renaming a bodypart in the inventory seems to result in it retaining its old name when you open it in Appearance (as written at the top of the Appearance dialog box).
I don't know the technical relevance of this, but it annoys the hell out of me, so for consistency if I want to rename a body part I always wear it and do a "Save as" out of Appearance.

The way to rename a body part and have it stick is to open the body part in Appearance mode and rename it in the inventory window. This almost always works. You can verify that it works by checking the name of the body part in the Appearance window, at the top. (I have the feeling that when I think it hadn't worked, it was because I forgot to follow this procedure.)
