Hi, maybe i'm going about it the wrong way. Maybe I should make the piece large then scale it down? Or would anyone share with me how to keep the camera STILL when i am focusing close up with the camera to position or size it? It will focus nicely close up but as soon as I touch the prim to edit it, the camera jumps out of position. Very annoying and much more tedious than i think i has to be.
Thanks

Always hold down alt when clicking things for edit or arrowkeying in edit... it generally stops the camera from resetting to original positions. Also, as a secondary, go into your prefs and disable the edit camera (you'll still have to hold alt but this one also stops some other annoyances). :>

Hello,
Okay, disabling "edit camera" in "preferences" did help a bit, and using the alt key only helps me to zoom in to see the object, but does nothing while editing. The camera still jumps out of position making positioning of the jewelry prims very difficult and tedious. Holding down the alt key while I edit sets the edit mode into SIZING (makes the four little color-coded blocks around the prim I'm editing) As soon as i touch the prim with my pointer to do anything, the camera still jumps out of position and i have to refocus again. I'm forced to try to position the jewlry prims from so far away i can barely see them.
Is there something else I may not be doing?
Thanks

You are not doing anything wrong, its a bug that has been around a while.
Some time ago we had the same bug, but back then it was fixed. Now it has been around longer than i care to think about and its really annoying.
