I am so new to photoshop that it is scary, but I am trying to learn. I had an idea today at work about how to get a realistic shape to my avatar and I am wondering if this would work.
Take two screenshots of my avatar (one full front) (one full profile)
Take two pictures of me in real life (one full front) (one full profile)
The frontals Take the two frontals and make the bodies the same size and overlay them, that would give me an idea of what I need to change on the avatar. I go in game and make the changes and take another screenshot of the changes, and keep doing that over and over until it matches shape.
Do the same with the profile.
Then I could do the same with the face.
Then I would have an avatar with my shape, right? This sounds really good on paper, but would it work in practice? or am I missing something?

You can probably get close that way, but you'll still be at the mercy of the sliders. There are only so many body parts we can change with the sliders.

Why not upload snapshots of yourself and just look at them for reference as you move the sliders?
I had my wife help me when I made my "me" avatar. It's not 100% but it's a reasonable approximation of me.

oops, sorry, didn't mean to post it in the wrong forums... I just thought it was sort of a "General" Question.
