Free Photoshop lessons?

I wanted to learn the ins-and-outs of Adobe Photoshop 6. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Upgrade to at least version 7.

I don't see how that will happen, and frankly, how would that help me either way?

Yes I have one of those. But the author just babbles on and on and I have to read three paragraphs of "humor" before I come upon some solid knowledge of how Photoshop works.

Nimue, I sounded flippant, but I didn't mean to be.

According to what I have *read* in other forum posts, PS 7 has enough features to be useful in SL, while older versions do not. I use GIMP, to tell you the truth, even though I have PS CS as well.

I also think that PS 7 can be found for really cheap, since it is three versions old. Lots of artists will have an old copy they never use any more.
