i've created a rather complex object with many prims and several "library" and custom textures. i am NOT using a script to set/manipulate the textures (beyond alpha changes); i've set the textures and "multiple textures" via the edit tool.

what i want to know is this: if/when i give away/sell my object, do i need to place my custom textures inside the object's contents? if i (need to) place the textures in the object's contents, will i then need to have a script set the side textures?

thanks!

Nope. Once you've textured an object, it's textured. Only include the textures in the contents if you want the buyer to have them for some reason. Otherwise, they'll just get the object with the textures on it, exactly as you're seeing it yourself.

Oh, and by the way, even if you are texturing by script, you still don't need to include the texture files. You can have the script reference each texture's UUID (database identifier), which is accessible from anywhere. Then you can simply lock the script so no one can read it but you, so no one else can see the UUID's.
