I've decided to start selling some of my avatars, after several requests. But what I'm having trouble with is figuring out how to distribute them.

I'd like to sell them as copy, modify, no transfer, so that customers can easily remix my work and have several outfits on the same prim-heavy av, customize them to taste, create bizarre chimeras, whatever.

Is there any way to set the permissions on all the parts at once, or am I going to have to manually set the permissions one piece at a time?

You won't have to set permissions prim by prim, if that's what your asking. But you will have to set permissions on each link set.

I ran into this problem too, there is no way
I could find to multi-select and set permissions

and if you have any thing in the contents
of any of your prims you will have to rez
the item and set permission on them also.
makes for a lot of work, I also went for
copy/mod/no xfer, on my avs too

Each object (that is, linked set of prims, and any item contained in them such as a script) has to be set, although you can mix this - i.e., set the object copy/mod so people can change size and color, but keep the script nomod.

Yeah, it's a hassle. There may be some kludges (along the same lines as the way you can "change" a creator tag), but in general... you just have to keep it in mind when youmake the avatar, really.

Yeah, it's a hassle. There may be some kludges (along the same lines as the way you can "change" a creator tag)

Kludges are welcome. I haven't encountered that method; can you give me a pointer that I might experiment?
