I need a little help lol ! Ive read your posts and cant seem to find what im trying to do...I have PhotoShop elements, i get the layers and the rips (ish) and have made a pretty awful pair of jeans, problem i seem to be having is with my background layer, its locked, and i cant turn it off make it grey or anything, even if i delete it its still their...im guessing this is why my rips are showing as white in SL and not skin. Ive read the alpha post but that i think isnt what im trying to do,,,,but idk!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated...even if its "Sell your computer" lmao

Thank you

Forrest

Unlocking the background layer in Photoshop is easy. Just double click on its icon in the layer palette and then, when the window opens to ask you if you want to create a new layer, answer YES. Either that, or you can choose Layer >> New >> Layer From Background to do the same thing. Photoshop Elements really isn't Photoshop (it's a very stripped down pseudo-version), but I suspects that it works the same way, at least in that regard.

As far as the white rips go, though, you really do need to create an alpha channel. The only way you're going to get transparency in SL is to create a 32-bit image. If you don't, those rips are going to show up white every time. I don't have the faintest idea how to do it in Photoshop Elements, though. Sorry....
