Hello

I've been searching for a tutorial on Lightwave 9 texture baking. Unfortunately the Pixel Dolls website for the tutorial is gone and I can't find another second life related tutorial like it. Anyone saved it or have a link to something similar?

Using lightwave 9 btw.

I have an old web archive saved of the tutorial; unfortunately, the pics and the links are no longer available -- if you still want it, shoot me an IM in-world.

speaking of that.. I saw Betty chime in on this post.. ( BETTY IS AWESOME !! ) I have been having some success on baking some textures, but I am only using the lighting Scene that was provided in the Pixie Tutorial but my results with it seem to be off. It's either too dark or the shirt is so blindingly white that all the texure detail is washed out. I have fiddled with the intensity of the lights abit, but id does not seem to do much good. am I missing a setting or something. I tried using the classic camera and also the Surface Baking Camera ( love that tool btw ).

any ideas on what my deal is?

hehe... thanks, Rylan. You're going to give me a huge ego. :P

You might try playing with the Luminosity percentage setting in the Surface Editor.

well I have been fiddling with all of them ( yes.. I am a compulsive setting fiddler ) and mostly I have been playing with the specularity. I will try adjusting the luminosity setting as well. I moved the cameras around a little bit to see if that helped and it did fix some of the really dark shadows the default Baking Scene produced. I will try tweaking the luminosity and let you know if that helps make the delicious shadows and highlights we all dream about.

LET THE FIDDLING COMMENCE!!
