For some reason I can't fill the back of my shirt with white for my alpha channel. Why is that?

It might be that if your using a 32bit tga file, SL considers the alpha wite to be a mistake, and drops it. That might be your problem. I'm not a texture person but I read about that feature, because people weren't using 24bit tga files, and getting hidden alpha channels in their textures.

Have you gone through Chosen's huge and excellent tutorial - in the sticky at the top of the forum?

If you're using Photoshop, did you forget to select the alpha channel before doing the fill?
Sometimes it gets kicked back into the RGB channel.

also make sure you don't have an active selection, like a part you've already filled. You can check in Photoshop by going to the select menu. If deselect isn't grayed out that means you have an active selection.
