Hello all,
Sorry if this has been asked before, but what permissions do you need to put on a texture if you plan to sell it? I have made some trellis textures, and I would like for other people to be able to buy them, use them on their houses or other creations, and be able to sell those creations.
Also, what, if anything, will prevent people from taking my texture and copying and reselling it as their own?

There's a million and one answers to this, or maybe 6...
Any single thing that you sell (such as a texture) must be either copy or transfer under the "fair use" guidelines from LL.
Past that, it's up to you...
Quite a few people sell their textures full perms and ask people not to hand them on. Benefit of this: whatever you add them to has the permissions of the object, not the texture applied properly, and people can download and 'tweak' the texture for that perfect look. Downside: Although legally you're restricting your rights with the notices, in practise you lose all control at least at the moment.
Anything less than full perms and they can't directly download your texture to tweak it. I tend not to buy that many textures, but, to be honest, I really wouldn't consider it if they weren't at least copy, transfer: I don't want to give my only copy away I want to be able to reuse, and I rarely make things that aren't also for sale, so transfer is required. Making them mod as well at that point doesn't open you to any new risk really, because at that point I can just give copies away...
