I am using photoshop6 and have just started to make my own textures... my question is... what is the best format to save textures to go on objects? ie: tables, boxes, multiple prim builds, etc. Is JPEG ok?

TGA is the most popular and probably the best all around. JPEG will work but it's lossless and you will loose detail since SL is going to compress the file again when you upload it.

See the big orange sticky at the top of the forum, the one entitled "Texture Size, Pixel Counts, Video Memory, and File Formats"? Read it. The very first section discusses the four usable formats, and the pluses and minuses of each.
