Alpha not an option in save..?

So, I'm blundering along, making a shirt. Follow tutorials, yadda yadda. Create alpha channel? check. RGB mode? check. Save as 32-bit .tga? check. Only problem is, when I go to save as a .tga, alpha channel is not an option.

A little more in-depth explaination: I am using Photoshop 7 on a Windows machine. I hit "Save As.." on my file, and since it defaults to .psd as the file type, there is the option to check "Alpha channel" before saving. However, once I change the file type to .tga before saving, "Alpha channel" becomes un-checked, and goes gray, not allowing me to re-check it.

Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how to fix it? Does it do this in all versions of Photoshop..? Or should I go back to my Mac for graphics? :P

Download the free 7.0.1 upgrade from adobe.com and you'll be all set.

You could also try replacing your TGA export plugin with the one in this thread - Both fallingwater and I use it all the time :)
