Okay, I can make the eyes pretty easy...my question: How do I get the right and left to be different colors? Searching for it just isn't showing.

prim eyes.
The normal avatar eyes just use the same texture for both eyes. No choice there.
But you can apply an iris texture to a small circular prim and attach them to each eye, like contact lenses. One of the few good uses for the "Eye" attachment points!
This is also how you can make eyes that really glow, as in they are a light source on their own...
