EDIT:
The link worked for me. I was able to take a look at the skin textures present there and I even built up a quick "skin" just to see what they'd look like. Overal, at least for me, it's not a pleasing look. The sample is so small (256x256 but it is ultra-closeup) that when you repeat it over the size necessary to make a skin it becomes very patterny.
For the record, what I did was:
- Create a base skin color layer (2048x204

- Add the "skin texture" to a new layer above it
- repeat the texture
- shrink that entire thing down to 15%x15% of the original
- repeat the texture again
- desaturate and set the texture layer to overlay
- set the fill of the texture layer to 25%
Just as a note, from my experience, there is little point in fooling around iwth a real skin texture if you're not also going to use something like blender to help render it (along with a bump map). The guassian noise "textures" I used in my original skin looked about as good and were easier to create.
If you really want a "skin texture", just go ahead and take a picture of your own forearm. Conveniently, we all have skin *laughs*. And there, you'd get a much larger sample than the ones on the blog.
Hope that helps.
