I'm brand new to SL, and playing around a bit with designing textures. I'm having a few difficulties though. When trying to make sleeve, I'm getting a little tab on the inside sleeves and I can't figure out wear it's coming from! I'm using Robin's SL template, and here's a picture of the issue:

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Hmmmmm.... I think you're seeing a tiny piece of black layer (a mask?) below your fabric layer. Your alpha (transparency) channel wasn't created quite right, so that tiny area isn't transparent, the way you intended. Open the channels palette and take a look. You'll probably see that same little tab showing up as a white blip, right where the two halves of the sleeve meet. If you have a hard time seeing exactly where it is, then make your alpha channel visible (click the eye icon) and then go back to the layers palette. The alpha will show up as red, and you'll be able to see the blip where the red extends just beyond the edge of your trimmed fabric. Probably the simplest thing to do is clean up the mask you used to create the alpha channel, and make a new one.

If you have the SCLP viewer (see the sticky at the top of this forum), you can check your work without paying $L10 to upload it to SL.

Thank you so much! That worked great. And I'll definitely be downloading that program so I don't waste $L
