This might seem like a very simple question. But I can't seem to find how to do this.
How do I make a texture so that it will be color tintable? When I upload a texture inworld and try to change its' color, it will not change.
Is there something I need to do in photoshop first?
Thank you for the answer, if there is one.

Textures are tintable. If you upload a texture that has light colored areas... then change the color on the object... you will see the texture tint. You will not see any tint change on a black colored texture. White will show the most color change

For some reason when I tried to change color it would not change.
Maybe it is too dark as you are saying.
Thank you.

Depending on the colors in your original and what color you are trying to tint with it may not have the deisred results.
You can adjust the levels of the image in PS to make it a greyscale, this will help with inworld tinting also increase the brightness and contrast a little. -whyroc

offworld, before uploading make sure your textures are -white!!- then any inworld modding/tinting will look semi-appropriate. if you are making 'alpha'd' see-thru clothing, there will be some off-color just due to the underlying skin color. if you are making additional 'prim clothing attachments' to match avi clothing items, might try to subdue the brightness of the inworld prims by 10 or 20%. match the color, but the brightness just bring down by like 10 or 20%...

If you take a texture and convert it to grey scale only, with no color content, just shades of black white and grey, it can be tinted almost any color you want when applied to a prim.
