Hi All:

This may be the wrong place for this, but is there a way to get grass, as in green grass from a texture or something, directly on the land? I bought some land, flattened it, and removed the "scrub" and it is all nasty rocks and stuff.

I realize I can put down a flat prim and texture it with grass, but that's going to use a *lot* of prims.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

The only way you can apply textures to your land is if you own the sim. Beyond that your stuck with the textures your "public" sim came with. If I recall correctly there are 3 texture layers that change with the heigth of the land.

You can use only two-thirds as many prims if you make your grass prims 15x10 (make them 10x10x0.01 and a top shear of 0.5 for one axis).

There's lots of other neat tricks to conserving prims that I've learned in the ~45 days I've been here.
