Very slow texture load

I'm trying to upload a 512x512 tga file from my local disk. It showed the preview immediately, I paid my L$10 and it started uploading. However, the ping times went up to 10000, and it appears to be hung.

I tried it twice with the same result.

Has this gotten broken?

Possibly, although unlikely.

There are a few things that could be going on - the asset cluster is falling apart again (although I've seen no other signs recently, but someone's got to be the first), the sim you were in was falling over, your connection couldn't cope.

I'd suggest clearing cache, relogging and trying again. I know it's what every Linden recommends first, but actually it does fix a surprising number of ills, and has fixed one like that for me some time ago.

This appears to have fixed itself. I tried 3 times, logging out each time and had the same exact results. Then after dinner I tried again, and it worked. Perhaps the sim was a bit broken. Dunno.
