Hi all, probably this question has already been asked thousand of times, but still I haven't managed to find anything out yet.
I'd like to create some wearable objects, using prims, but I can't understand how to "explain" to the game how to properly place an object on my avatar.
I mean, when I create an object, and then "wear" it, I usually find it inside my head, or chest, and attaching it to the desired body part doesn't help either.
So, how do you people manage to create proper "clothes" with prims? Do they need any scripts or something like that?
I've browsed these forums for a while, but all I could find were tutorials and explanation about "normal" clothing, textures, etc, but nothing regarding prims, so if someone could kindly shed some light on the subject I would really appreciate it...

Prim clothing is exactly like avatar attachments. SL has no idea where you want to put something when you 'wear' a newly constructed item, you have to teach it. Clothing built from prims will be tricky, if you want sleeves/legs/etc you will need to break it into pieces and attach each fragment onto separate body areas.
First, get on a posing stand somewhere or put your avatar into appearance editing mode. Right-click on the new clothing and choose a single body part it should be associated with. It'll appear, probably impaled in your body somewhere. Then right-click on the attachment and choose 'edit' to go back into building mode. Now your ruler mode will say 'avatar' and you can rotate and reposition the object relative to your body.
Once set, the attachment point and coordinates are saved on the root prim, so afterward you can just choose to 'wear' it.
