Ok, I know everyone is sick of alpha channel Q's but this one is a bit different. As always when dealing with curved lines, I use anti-alias to achieve the nice edge. However, when I then put in the alpha channel, I get this horrendous white edge arround everything. I assume this is because the anti-alias varies opacity to get the nice edge. I've tried contracting the selection by one for the mask (I use PSP) but then I lose the clean edge. Does anyone have a solution for dealing with this? Thanks in advance!

You might want to see if you can set your "matte" (background color) to transparent before exporting the image. I don't use the same graphics software, but when I use Macromedia Fireworks, I have the option of doing that.

This web page has a quite amazing tutorial on how to get rid of edge artifacts on transparencies, and it deals with the most difficult of them all... plants. The technique can apply to anything though, and produces wonderful results.

The reason you're getting a white halo around the edges is because when an image is flattened for export the default background color is white. So the anti-aliased parts are matted against white which causes the halo. You can avoid this by creating background layer contain the color of your clothing/texture. See the tattoo section of my tutorial for an example. (link below)
