Hey all, I am hoping someone can shed some light and possably some tips on what to do. I am trying to make a full set of sheer nylons, the ones that would cover the pants and socks layer. I keep running into a problem.
I paint the full pants template, then I cut the layer where I want my socks to start with the square marquee, I scroll my view in to about 500 pixels to make sure there is no gap, both edges match perfectly, the pants half and the socks half. I create my Alpha Channel and save the file, each one as a different file and with its own Alpha.
When I create my pants/socks in game I get a black seam around the leg, like one half is overlapping the other, even though in photoshop the edges match up. So I thought I'd be smart and try making the grey darker at the edges, well that took away the black seam but it left a white seam, no matter what shade of grey I used.
I can't understand why the edges would overlap once I get them into the game when I have them stopping perfectly matched in Photoshop. I was going to use Avipainter but it cannot open 2 pant layers at the same time, so each attempt I am spending money to upload, needless to say I've gone through 500+ so far with fruitless attempts. I'm obviously missing something, and it is very fustrating. I know it is possable, I have seen perfect seamless full Nylons.
Anyone able to offer help with how to accomplish this? Thanks a bunch!

which template are you using to do the stockings? (is it the default SL template they provide? I know it is the lower body one)
where are you making the seam at?
neat the foot bottom of pants or neat the top where stocking ends? I would do it near the foot as most often that part will be hidden by a shoe or stretched and not as noticeable

Thanks for the replies, I am using chip midnights templates, not the SL ones. I cut the layers between the knee and ankle areas, I figured the knee and ankle might leave a worse seam then what I am getting..
your image looks exactly like I am looking for, I don't see a seam at all, that seamless all the way to the top? I feel like such a moron that I can't figure out how to achieve it =/
Basically I am not looking to make nylons, I make catsuits and got an order for a sheer version, the socks and gloves layer of this outfit are leaving seams, then I saw the seamless nylons that gave me the idea of possably getting the pants/socks of the catsuit wearable without ankle/wrist seams.
Exactly like you just did, pure seamless from top to bottom, you'd think I'd be able to do things like this by now..it's a shame

posting answer here so others will know too
what I did was make the pants layer full length, then the socks layer was done with just the foot, no leg all all max all length slider when wearing them
put them on the underwear layer and socks layer, since pants layer puts a flare automatically at the bottom
hope this helps

Yes, very much so. I'm going to thank you here as well as I did ingame! Not to sure what was wrong with SL yesterday but when I uploaded those same files to show you today they were perfect, no seams..so I am not sure what was wrong yesterday. Very fustrating..
I can't thank you enough for taking the time to help me, and I hope this post will help others just as much!
