Uuid

Ok this has prossibly been asked many times but searching UUID doesn't help so:
What is a UUID?
I have an object asking ' Please enter the texture key (UUID) for all windows'.
How do i find this key?

Though I can't help with that object, I can tell you what a UUID is - it's a Universally Unique Identifier. Basically, it's a really big number (a "34" with 37 zeros after it) that uniquely identifies something in SL. Pretty much everything has them - avatars, prims, textures, every other kind of asset, groups, etc, etc, etc..

It sounds like the object wants to know the UUID of the texture you want to use for your windows. If you have a texture you want to use, find it in your inventory then right-click on it and do Copy Asset UUID (or something like that). How you then tell the object the UUID I have no idea..

I think that helped answer more questions than the one asked.
It appears the reason for the item asking for a UUID was because I Linked an item to others and it didn't know what to do.
Using your information I picked a texture, did 'Copy Asset UUID' and then pasted it in to chat after forcing the item to ask again and it worked, wasn't sure but because it asked for the UUID the first time I guessd it was waiting for a chat message otherwise I think I would have been looking at delete and start again.
