Hiya
I've got a couple of questions about the hair textures and transparencies...
First up, any tips on getting rid of the annoying white transparency edges the fringes? Second, I want my av's eyebrows to be black, but when you set the hair colour as black it blacks out the texture too. Any tips for getting round this?
Cheers

From: someone First up, any tips on getting rid of the annoying white transparency edges the fringes? Sounds like you are using PS7. Just make sure there is no antialiasing or feathering between the opaque parts and the transparent parts. Alternately, you could download the 7.01b patch from adobe, whcich will change the way transparency works for TGA's. You'll need to manually print alphas after that instead of just erasing to transparency, but it will eliminate the "white halo of death and destruction". Make the eyebrows a tattoo instead of actual eyebrows. Just set SL's real eyebrows to zero opacity so they go away and apply a face tattoo with whatever eyebrows you want on it.

From: someone Originally posted by Charity Pennyfeather any tips on getting rid of the annoying white transparency edges the fringes? Second, I want my av's eyebrows to be black, but when you set the hair colour as black it blacks out the texture too. Any tips for getting round this? The white edged fringes are due to a flaw in the SL rendering engine so unfortunately there's no way around it. For this reason a lot of people use prim attachments for fringes instead of the built in fringe. Using the hair color slider to make dark hair tends to wipe out all the detail in the texture. The way around that is to have the color in the texture itself. This requires you to set the hair color near white which causes you to have white eyebrows. The way around that is to use a tatt for your eyebrows and set the eyebrow volume to 0 in appearance.
