Is the texture stretching over the breast mesh causing the nipple texture to change shape?

I have been having the same problem. It appears to me that SL MAY have changed the base skin a small bit. The templates no longer line up on the torso with Chips templates at least as those are the ones that I use. The belly button is also shifted down and to the left.

It took some fiddling but there were two things I did to help.

First I went back into my old awful skins just to get one of the older ones. That seemed to fix the belly button problem

The next thing takes a bit of fiddling until you get it right. You need to mask the nipple area on the alpha channel. I ended up masking the whole area on the template and then carved it away until it covered that area on the skin. Then I put my nipples over it and made them fit.

Good luck. This has been annoying to me too.

A transparent skin (depending upon how transparent it is) will allow some of the default color layer, skin grain layers, and slider effects to bleed through. If your nipples are not the same shape and position as the default nipples (located in the upperbody_color.tga file in the client character folder) you will get a ghosting or blotchy effect. The quickest way to eliminate the issue is to replace the upperbody_color.tga file with one that is completely transparent (this will eliminate nipple, belly button and hand details). Your other option is to work with the shape information on the default layer to get a better matching overlay, or go with a completely opaque skin and not worry about it at all. If you plan to sell the skin it may be best to work around the existing default layers or go completely opaque, otherwise you will need to provide technical assistance on changing the client character folder contents with each sale (not fun - been there, done that)!
