Hey I have some question about texture permissions.
I was looking at shop that sold textures and permissions were set for no copy, no mod but they were transferable.
I was wonder if you have texture that is no copy can you use it for multiple texturing or just once?
Why would someone put transferable on texture that they made versis no mod, no transfer?
Anyone know?

Texture Issues

If the texture is no copy, no mod, transfer only, yes you can only use it once. When you download a texture into SL, by default it becomes no mod, no copy in your inventory. My guess is that the person selling the texture just forgot to reset permissions. As a courtesy you might want to leave him/her a message to let them know. All texture artists on SL that I know of, create full permission textures to use on items of your making, but not to resell as is. :)

I agree with Cassandra. That is almost certainly a simple mistake on the part of the seller. I've done it myself, when rushing to get a new bundle out for sale, and getting distracted partway through setting it up. Forgot to set the perms, left them at defaults, and got just what you described. I once did that for ten full bundles, and had to reset all of them, and gave a new copy of the texture set to the customer that reported the problem. It happens to all of us, at one point or another.

Most textures are sold full-perms, so the buyer can make things with them that they can then resell. The majority of textures are useless if you don't have full perms.

The one exception is that sometimes a builder will sell "no transfer" texture sets, to match a build. For example, I know one builder who makes bamboo buildings that are no-transfer. She sells a matching texture bundle that is also no-transfer, so her customers can make, for their own use only, matching elements like decks, handrails, and other stuff to go with her buildings. Such extra parts can't be transferred, because they contain no-transfer textures. But this still works fine for 'personal use' textures.

I want to share or sell textures I make but how do make sure it is not able to be sold or given away?
Yeah I didn't buy the textures they were 260L but they were no mod, no copy but u could transfer them thats why I asked here because I am still learning.
Also I didn't know if I used no copy no mod texture and want to remove the texture use it on something else if I lose it.

maybe the box the bundle was in was no mod no copy but the textures inside had different rights? Im always asking sellers when I have questions about perms. selling a no trans texture helps only those that want to make something only they can enjoy
