Question about skin editing

Hi, I bought a skin a while ago which I am quite happy with, except for one detail that I found out about only when it was too late: It has no teeth, that is, if there are any teeth, they are flesh-colored. No I don't want to use another skin because that seems to change the face too much, but I hate that toothless smile. Does anyone know of a way how I can fix this?

Thanks -- Dylan

Judging from the fact that the inner mouth is missing from the texture leads me to believe that the creator does not have a full understanding of the template, or is just plain lazy. You might want to take a close look at the eyelashes too (located in the upper right portion of the texture provided in this post). That is an even more common oversight for texture artists working on skins. Here's what I would do (as a customer):

Contact the creator and ask them (in a friendly way) if they are willing to fix the problem. After all, it's thier responsibility to provide a complete product. The default skin has this detail included in it, and the texture is free to grab by anyone here (at the bottom of this post), or by grabbing this file located here <C:\Program Files\SecondLife\character\head_color.tga>. You can let the creator know this if they say they don't have a texture to fix the issue.

If the skin creator won't fix the problem, or doesn't know how, refer them to this post. If they are still not willing to help you then it's time to shop elsewhere and let others know about the problem you encountered so they won't get stuck wearing a toothless skin.

Hopefully you didn't pay too much for the skin. It really is buyer beware in SL, and I personally would never buy a skin unless I have the opportunity to try on a full demo first. Luckily, I make skins, so I don't have to deal with that problem ;).

Well, I wished LL had labeled the eyelashes that, I had been wondering forever about that. As to the mouth, I didn't realize it mattered that much, so thanks, you saved me. (I am making a custom one for someone because I have a copy of FaceGen) if you don't mind I will use those teeth and tongue. Thnaks.

I'm glad this was a help. Happy texturing :)
