I got curious, after reading about, DAZ Studio. So I went to their site and downloaded the free studio. Now I have a multipart question on using it to preview SL clothing.
I used robin’s mini-tutorial (thanks Robin) to import the SL avatar figure and put a blouse on her. However, the transparency didn’t go and her arms were black. Now normally, this wouldn’t really matter, except for esthetics, but blouse had black lace trim.
I used the skin in the JinnySamples and dragged the blouse layers in it it, saved the entire thing as a tiff and it worked.
My question is: Is there an easier, less time consuming way to do this? I tried saving the alpha channel in both tiff and png formats. However, none of them carried over into DAZ. Ideally, I would like to morph the SL avatar in DAZ to look like my avatar, complete with skin tone. Then just change clothes the way you can do with the built in models and clothing.
Can this be done with DAZ and Photoshop and, is it worth the trouble, just to check for missing seams and mis-aligned patterns?
