I havn't used psp in a long while but.... when you make a new image, try setting the background to 'transparent' then create a new layer to work on... as long as both layers have transparent background, it should end up um, semitransparent....
Hope that helps. um...

Frost, are you making an alpha channel for your image? If not, then that's your problem. Any image with transparency must be saved as 32 bit TGA. The alpha channel constitutes the additional 8 bits over a normal 24 bit RGB image, and governs the transparency levels. White represents opacity, black represents transparency, and gray represents semi-transparency. So, what you need to do on your alpha is make the glass areas gray, and the rest white.
If you're unsure how to make an alpha channel, there are dozens of tutorials in this forum, and thousands on the web. Google "PSP Aplha Channel Tutorial" and you'll find more than you could read in a lifetime. I think there might be a help file on it too, but it's been quite a while since I've played around with PSP.
