Hello Citizens! It's almost time again, for the "NOT JUST ANOTHER" Texturing Competition. ((I realize this is an event, but I figured since a lot of texturing tenderfoots and wizards come in here, it would be OK to advertise here as well...so please don't take offense)) This is the second "NJA" competition, and we are looking to repeat the fantastic success of the inaugural event this past October. "NJA" is a 24 hour texturing competition catering to both the novice texture artist, and the veteran artists amongst you. Swing by the "NJA" gallery space, and have a look at next month's model which is on display now. Don't wait to the last minute to examine your specimen--get a good look now, so when it's time to roll, you're rolling in style. Also, while you're at it, pick up an information card and sign-up sheet. This will explain all the smaller details...in detail. Cheers and good luck! *LM* The "NOT JUST ANOTHER" Texturing, Silicon Island (92, 111, 3

As Chosen Few, for reasons of his own, seems to give you a little more leeway than other mis-posters on this and other forums it seems to be left to me to point out something you are already very well aware of, ie that this is not an events forum.
Why not confine your post to the special attractions forum where it most definitely belongs?

I agree with sammy, why should your post be special enough to warrant being posted in the wrong place (and knowingly at that)
when others get reprimanded for doing exactly the same thing.

Why not confine your post to the special attractions forum where it most definitely belongs? Have you noticed how little events get seen, and how quickly they are buried? He's posting it here because it is for people who do texturing.. so that they have a chance to participate. Now if he was spamming every single board, I would be on the same page as you, but since its for a niche 'market' and since its offering a chance to participate in a contest such as the one it *is* for.. I disagree. I think that him posting here makes sense, and is giving an opportuniyu to those who fequent these forums. The title is obvious what its about.. blatantly so. If you don't like it don't read it. EDIT:: Also helping with the 'leeway' factor is the fact that this is an established competition from a well-known (In my opinion) company within SL. You know it's real and you know it's good. Why get upset about it?

Okiphia, thank you. I couldn't agree more, and was hoping I'd have an intelligent poster who would understand and voice their thoughts. Forum society is so nit-picky. They love to call 'citizens arrest.' I honestly think my post is not only harmless and beneficial to those interested, but also has been placed in the appropriate two forums (Special Events and Texturing Tips)... I can't fathom how forums are a breeding ground for 'Topic Nazis'--OK, so I can fathom why...but in this case, it's clearly aimed with precision and purpose. Sorry to take you on the bus to Negative Town... Get on by the "NJA" gallery space and have a look around. Try your hand at texturing. Get involved. There are prizes to be won, and networking to be done. (Rumor has it, TRU will be sponsoring as well--stay tuned) Cheers.

I don't know, havent been able to check it out in-world yet, and cant go online atm.
Is the model one prim or multiple? For some reason I have it in my mind that its a sculpted prim but I feel that to be incorrect lol...

It's an invitation to a texturing competition on a texturing forum! Duh! I might even have a go this time - I don't read the events forum but I am interested and active in texturing Good luck with it Michael!
