I am looking for a wood plank texture that has transparent gaps between planks, for a dock. Ideally it would be 2x8 type planks with about 1/2 to 1" between planks. Has anyone seen a texture like this for sale in SL?

aye i liked it soo much i bought genetica 2 (the big brother of wood workshop) but it wont do transparent chunks automaticly, youll probally have to make those yourself after you get the base material

Spiral Graphics makes some fun products. Wood Workshop works very well for what it is. I'm usually not a fan of these simplistic kinds of programs, and there's certainly nothing it can do that Photoshop can't, of course, but I do find myself using Wood Workshop from time to time. For lack of a better term, it's a "cute" program.

There is no need to downplay a tool just because its too simplistic or not good enough for so called professional use. People have achieved so many great things even with the most modest of tools.

Genetica 2.5 has added some new stuff and I've definitely seen people do planks over a transparent background with it. You can always try asking at the Spiral Graphics forums, they're really helpful with tricky texturing questions there.

By the way, did you guys notice all the new free textures? They can all be edited in Genetica, which is really nice.
