I've seen some pretty realistic looking Avatars on Second Life but I am not able to adjust anything to make mine look as real as theirs. Someone told me i needed to buy "skins?" I'm kinda clueless so thanks if you reply  . |

"Skins" are just textures you apply to your avatar in the appearance window. You can find many places selling "skins" from okay to excellant quality in a range of prices.

try Nomine, Munch's skins are pretty nice & relatively inexpensive.
