I downloaded some templates for skins and managed to create a couple decent first drafts.....but, even with all layers clearly defined for me.....I cannot make this white area disappear that surrounds the lash area.

I'll grab a screenshot later.......but hoping that those of you who are well versed in doing skins might know what I'm talking about. I normally just use prim lashes when I wear skins......so avatar lash isn't the problem, per say......It's the texture immediately around the eye orb that is appearing white. Basically it looks like the avatar is wearing white out tape for eye-liner LOL In the layer pallettes I cannot see where this is occurring.....but there's obviously something I'm missing or forgetting to do.

In the upper right corner of the head layer you should have a solid black block with a hair-like texture in the alpha channel. Often with skins, people will completely alpha that out and paint the eyelashes on the eyelids or wear prim lashes. (^_^)

Also, for the eye area, keep the eyelid portion either completely black or a slightly darker shade than the surrounding skin/makeup. (^_^)y

Thanks sweety~!

As it happens....that corner IS completely alpha'd out and the area surrounding the eye IS black. So this has got me totally puzzled. I knew that going in.....and actually did a skin a while back without this issue. So, now wondering if there's some kind of texturing glitch going on. Drats LOL But you validated what I thought I knew...so that at least helps my look for other possible causes. ;)

If you're using 1.23 RC, then that's a "feature". Of course, if you're not and you have properly alphaed out that upper right hand corner--it should be completely transparent--then all I can think is that you need to compare that head texture to one that you know works properly.

PS, again, if using 1.23, the geniuses put the makeup layer ON TOP of the skin layer, totally reversing 6 years of skin making technology. That *could* be white eyeliner. I'm always surprised by the things I left buried under a skin I've made and 1.23 brings them all to the top. Eeek!

Nope.....I'm using the regular viewer...... I checked and somehow whilst saving it the transparent alpha corner went white. LOL I've got to go back and double check what I did wrong with the layers......it was saved as a tga copy which is what I've done in the past for transparent textures.......but I goofed up something. :p

Yeah, make sure you save it as 32 bit TGA, not 24. Easy mistake to make, I've wasted many an upload on that :)
