What does the invisibility prims on prim shoes like heels do exactly?

Where can I get them?

What's the difference between the invisibility prim used in shoes to a 'Totally Clear' texture?

I notice theres sometimes a script in this Invisible Prim, whats that for?

I know these are very specific questions but as a budding designer I have few outlets for answers.

Thanks ahead of time to anyone whose generous with information!

Cheers!

its a script that re-applys a alpha texture, a bug really but so widely used its a feature,
we really need an alpha skin. what it does is hide the av skin but not prims it also
makes shiny not shiny:( but mostly used on shoes to hide the wierd heels lindens think
can be textured as shoes, silly like having only one arm texture???
if you use it to large it will hide any av skin behind it even other ppl so its not great
but can be used to make an exploding head, LOL quite funny too :)
you can find them in word for free.

Lightwave said it pretty well, but just to put it my own words, the shape of the high heel on the avatar sucks. It looks more like a deformed brick under your foot than a heel anyone would actually wear. The invisiprim hides the avatar's big-ass ugly heel, so you can replace it with a more realistic thin heel like what you'd find on real shoes.

Another us for it is to hide the foot entirely so that you can make "one size fits all" shoes without having worry about big-footed avs not being able to wear them.

Hehehe thanks so much guys! I have been in SL for well over a year and when Elle taught me about and passed me the Invisibile Refresh Script on me I was so psyched and felt like such a noob to pass in and out of the prim and see my Avatar dissappear and reappear!

Im sure im not the only one who was wondering about this SL shoe technology, thanks everyone for sharing!
