Previewing texture on a model without loading SL

Hi! Is there a program with a basic male and female model we can preview textures on without having to launch SL?

When I'm making textures and want to test them out, my pitiful computer can barely load SL up with Photoshop open as well.

This would also be useful for when SL is down.

The avatar models and animations are avalible here:

Some people in the forums load the models into 3D modeling programs such as Blender (free) or Maya, others use Poser or DAZ Studio (free), and some use a program called Tattoo.

If a 3D modeling program proves too much for you or your machine DAZ and Tattoo questions get answered pretty quick in these forums. :)

Yeah I think it might ... haha .. so I downloaded DAZ too, but can't figure out how to put the shirt texture I made on the model.

Edit: PS. I downloaded DAZ myself and managed to apply textures as per Robin's instructions and some poking around. Let me know if you run into any problems.
