I am wondering where all you wonderful designers are finding these clothes with both front and back images? I have searched and will continue to but would love some help. I'm a novice working with GIMP with no prior knowledge of the paint programs and it's all trial and error with me. Any help or tips are absolutely welcome, in World, here or yahoo. (maxine_av@yahoo.com)

Thanking you in advance.

I have never copy and pasted a clothing piece. All I do is gather ideas from clothing and compile them into my own ideas and draw them up from scratch. I believe it's a lot more authentic and truly shows the talent of the designer.

Thank you Dawn. That's how I would like to do it and I agree with you. I just wanted to see how it looked and how difficult it would be. Thanks again.

Yeah, most good designers will not copy and paste from pictures.

You will also find that clothing made from pictures are not as good-looking as clothing made from scratch -- often there are seams, inconsistency in shading, and not as original designs. :) I don't use GIMP but from what I understand it's a very good program -- you can do a whole lot with textures and so forth. Being a designer in SL is not just slinging stuff out as fast as you can do it -- it takes time and it shows in your clothes, and that's why people like Mistress Midnight and others are so great at what they do. :D

Hi Nia,

Some sites that might be helpful are bluefly.com and shopjlo.com (Jennifer Lopez's clothing...I suppose her clothes are better than her music).

I aim to create stuff that doesn't exist in the real world by using my imagination. Making replicas just doesn't have any appeal for me.
