Hi! I'm working on a line of flannel shirts, because it's getting cold here (and they are fun to do,) and I wanted to make the plaid fabric textures for them.
So I thought I'd use Painter, which allows you to fill things with Weaves. They have plaids there, but many of them are broken (they repeat unevenly,) and I prefer to make my own stuff anyway, so I thought I'd just use the Edit Weave and knock a few out.
Imagine my surprise when I looked at the Edit Weave dialog and found it to be pretty much incomprehensible!
So, since I'm me, I started to bash my brains against it until I figured it out.
Then I thought to myself, "Self, it's quite possible that other people in Second Life might like to make their own fabrics, too."
So I put a tutorial up on my website, explaining how to use the Edit Weaves dialog in Painter to make pretty much any kind of plaid or striped twill that you care to make.
You can find it here.
Let me know if it's useful to you!
