Selection path with GIMP

Hello,

I'm learning the GIMP presently (still reading documentation) and I would like an answer on this:

I use the selection tool (B) to create a path, then create a selection out of that path.

I then copy the selection, and paste it into another image.

What I would like to do next is resize the pasted image so it will fit within the constraints of the body template (let's say upper body).

The scale tool can't do the job effectively (as far as I can tell)...I was wondering if there was a way to keep the anchor points that were used to create the selection path, and be able to drag them around to reshape the pasted picture?

It would help a lot :)

If this is not possible, I'm open to your suggestions :) I have sections of my pasted image that are too wide around the midsection, while other sections are not tall enough (vertically).

Thank you kindly!

Lattice equivalent?

Ok, through another forum post here, I read about a Photoshop Feature called "Lattice", which seems to allow you to squish an image from different points...I beleive it was also referred as the warp tool.

Is there an equivalent feature in GIMP?

There is a tool under filters - distorts - iwarp - that might help. Not sure if it has a lattice but it does warp the image.
