I've made my first skin, it looks ok but I can't get my avatar's eyelashes to turn black, they stay white no matter what I try. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thx.

The color of the eyelashes is determined by pixels at the top right of the head texture. You should leave the upper right corner transparent around the eyelashes. To see their exact placement, use one of the alternate template sets (linked to in the sticky thread of links at the top of the forum) or dig around in the "character" folder in your SL install. There's a TGA file in there that shows where they are on the head texture.

Hi, Sleep! The upper right hand corner of the head texture must be kept fully transparent for the normal SL eyelashes to work. If you have opacity there, SL makes your avie's eyelashes the same color as the opacity. To see the size of the needed transparency, look in the Character folder in your Second Life client's program folders and study the Head_Alpha.tga file.
