I'm wondering if there are smart object mannequins with their arms at their sides. Would there be a person willing to walk me through a how to, or pass on a link so I may download.
1. Get Poser or DAZ|Studio, and load the mannequin Poser files.
2. Pose the body in any position you want.
3. Apply Chip's or Robin's templates as textures.
4. Export as OBJ, with materials included.
5. Load your OBJ in Photoshop, open up the texture files, and convert them to smart objects.

I've figured out how to move the arms..how to save the bvh file....
I'm no sure why you're messing with BVH files. BVH is an animation protocol. It's got nothing to do with Photoshop, or with the display of 3D models in any program.

figured out PS needs a different file type...ended up with 50 bazillion polys in PS...it can not be this hard...I'm a smart person lol...but help...
What was this "other file type"? Was it OBJ? And what do you mean by "50 bazillion polygons"? Did the poly count of the model actually increase, or do you just mean that the various parts of the model were discontiguous, not all attached as one piece?

I, for one, have no idea what you mean by a 'smart object mannequin'.
Smart objects are a unique feature of Photoshop, introduced with version 9 (CS2), about 4 years ago. If you're not a PS user, it's not surprising that you might not have heard of them. Basically, they create embedded references to original imagery, allowing you to size and resize layers indefinitely, without any cumulative loss of quality. This is not currently possible in any other raster editor, and it is one of Photoshop's biggest selling points these days. It's a tremendously useful feature.
