From: someone
Jellin Pico: "It hardly matters that (WoooOOoOooHooOOoooo) Mrs Jones designed it (yeah right) personally, it's just a texture."

I can assure you these are Mrs Jones designs.

From: someone
Jellin Pico: "$650 for a blouse?!?! Does it come with chips and a drink?"

FYI, it isn't just a blouse :) It comes with: Panties, Skirt, Top, Shoes, Hair and accessories.

All the outfits are complete, the pictures there are called teasers. If you check out the actual clothes in world you'll see they are complete.

Also, they all come with as 5-6 poses you won't find anywhere else in SL.

I think my favorite on the website is the is $25000!! for a red dress. (cough cough cough)

For that price Mrs Jones herself should come in the box

:) yes that was a unique item, and has since been sold.

The website will be updated soon to reflect these changes.

Sorry Damien, but they're overpriced by at least 10 times.

I don't care who designed them, there are in world designers who're far better, including yourself...

If Avalon's Mrs Jones can ask 25 thousand lindens for an outfit, then I suggest that Nephi can ask a million for a simple top.

That's the difference in quality!

I think the Mrs Jones clothes (the SL versions) are some of the best designed clothes I’ve seen so far. Many of the attachments from the first collection were incredibly detailed and intricate – I was very impressed with the ingenuity used to re-create them in SL. From what I’ve seen, this new line of clothes lives up to the high standard set with the first line. A lot of effort went into making each ensemble and I think because each one includes many different pieces, $650 is a bargain, especially for some really unique content—the only content (as far as I know) based on the designs of a real world fashion designer.

But really I don’t see the “it costs too much” argument as anything new or specific to SL. There are people who shop at Old Navy, Target, and Gap and there are people who shop at Saks, Neiman Marcus, and designer boutiques – and then there are people who spend thousands buying designer clothing—whether right of the model’s back at a show or for custom stuff. I won’t explain the psychology behind why people buy what they buy, but just like real life, SL has diverse buyers. It’s certainly okay to think a price is outrageous – other people won’t. Sometimes I like wearing exclusive clothing that not many people can afford—if I feel like standing out in a crowd. Other times blending in with the crowd in an Old Navy t-shirt and jeans is good too.

Oh, and both lines were created by a designer considered by most to be one of the very best designers in SL. Having an opinion is perfectly valid, but disparaging the designs just because one thinks the price is too high is a little unfair to that designer (in my opinion of course).

:)

I still think a big part of the big price is simply because the words "Mrs Jones" and "real word designer" come with it. Like I said, they're nice clothes, but based solely on their looks, for me they're overpriced.

On the other hand, if being able to say "Oh this is a Mrs Jones design" is worth the bragging price, more power to you.

edited for atrocious spelling

Mrs. Jones 1st series
07-30-2004 18:00
I really liked the first series, except for the 2 unique items and not because of price but design as they both cover my face piercings :P

I bought them all except for the green miniskirt set and 1 of the 6k outfits.

I must say I liked them more before the price was dropped :P as the high price is one of those things that gives you something to save for.

The jury is still out on the new series... I think maybe too many colors, but then I feel like the Prussian Duke telling Mozart "too many notes" (that was the Prussian Duke, right?)

I am probably going to pick up the white tennis outfit :D

I must admit I was a tad underwhelmed when the outfit I bought from the first series was subsequently reduced in price. Part of the appeal of the range was its exclusivity, as it's always nice to have one or two things in your wardrobe that you know not many other people have. Serves me right for being a fashion snob, I suppose...

Anyway, I decided to take the plunge on one of the multi-coloured jumpsuits and now I look alarmingly like my Mum in some of her old photos circa 1970's!

p.s. Bri, Austro-Hungarian Emperor :D
