Ok, I just made a shirt using gimp, mind you, not a good one. How do I join the front with the back, and the arms with the front and back all together. Then after that, how do I get it into SL to place on my avatar? I'm so close, please, I need more help. Thank you.

Just put each part where it goes on the template. Once it's placed onto a shirt in SL, everything will map to the correct locations. That's what the templates are for.

In SL, click on the word "File" at the top of the screen, and then on "Upload Image". Select your image file, and click Ok.

Now in your inventory, click "Create", and then "New Shirt". Wear the shirt by dragging it from your inventory to your avatar. Then, right click on your avatar, and click on "Appearance" in the pie menu. In the appearance editor, go to the shirt tab, and assign your texture to the shirt you're currently wearing.

There ya go.
