The GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program, an open-source graphics editing application. You can download, and get more information about it, here.
It runs on the PC, on Unix, and on Mac OS X with X11 installed. It's free, of course, since it's open-source. A lot of people here use it, and will be able to tell you more about it; but that should be enough to get you started until they wake up, in their various time zones, and post more. ![]() _____________________

You look like you've been through a lot LaZy. Welcome to SL and I hope it helps you recover from it all.
Anyway, that link to GIMP always boggles someone new to it. There are too many confusing links for users. But it actually leads you to here. http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html You need to download both 'The GIMP for Windows' and 'GTK +2 environment'. Run the installation for GTK first, then the GIMP one. |

Welcome to Second Life, LaZy!
Several of my friends who were new to The Gimp but have Photoshop experience liked GimpShop, a modification of Gimp to behavior more like Photoshop. If you don't need advanced features, I would also recommend Paint.Net but be warned if you want do do anything with transparent layers like clothing this'll not work very well for you. Hope this helps! -K _____________________
